I’m a natural anthropologist, I study people.

In my life I’ve had the pleasure of living amongst several different races, ethnicities, and cultures. I’ve seen people doing extraordinary things and I’ve seen people living lives of complacency. I’ve seen people waiting for things to happen for them rather than people working to make things happen for them.

This year I turn 30. A very necessary “What I learned from my 20s” post is definitely in the works but I will share one thing I learned. Human beings are powerful. I bask in that. We are powerful.

I’ve learned that everyone is not meant to be exceptional and everyone doesn’t own their power. Our world order is structured so that the powerful derive their authority from the powerless.

And much of this ties into finances because there are people not earning what they are worth nor maximizing their worth. There are people more concerned with investing in corporations and institutions than their own families and lives. There are people so distracted by the tools of the powerful that they aren’t investing in their own happiness.

I’m not where I want to be yet, but I’m steps closer than I was last month, and yards closer than I was last year, and miles closer than I was at the age of 25. But despite my internal drive, even I need reminders and pick me ups along the way.

I now listen to this on repeat every single morning. Each morning a different tidbit grabs me and I want to share it with you.
